The knurling (textured surface) enhances grip within the host material, preventing rotation during installation and use. Through-hole design enabling bolts to pass entirely through, facilitating through bolting. Requires a rivet nut tool to pull a mandrel through the nut, deforming the open end into a bulge that secures the nut against the material.
